CELILO FALLS

This historic Native American fishing grounds ceased to exist in 1957. People from the Umatilla, Warm Springs and Yakima reservations watched the Dalles Dam swallow up their thousand-year cultural heritage where fathers and sons had dip-netted for salmon on the seven islands and shores of the Columbia River
